Color Harmony Explained
Color harmonies are combinations of colors that work well together based on their positions on the color wheel. This tool uses HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) math to compute each palette.
- Monochromatic — Variations of the same hue at different lightness levels. Creates a clean, cohesive look.
- Complementary — The base color plus its opposite on the color wheel (hue + 180°). High contrast, vibrant.
- Triadic — Three colors equally spaced on the wheel (hue, hue+120°, hue+240°). Balanced and colorful.
- Analogous — Five neighboring colors on the wheel (±30° steps). Natural and harmonious.
